Expert Gas Pipe Repair in San Diego, CA

Gas pipe repair is one of the most safety-critical services we handle at Economy Plumbing SD. A damaged or corroded gas pipe puts your home, your appliances, and your family at risk. We serve homeowners and property owners across San Diego downtown, Mira Mesa, La Jolla, Coronado, Chula Vista, La Mesa, El Cajon, Bonita, Imperial Beach, Poway, Scripps Ranch, Sorrento Mesa, and University City. Many properties in and around downtown San Diego are older buildings. Older gas pipes corrode over time, especially when exposed to soil contact, moisture, or ground movement. Fittings wear. Joints loosen. Past appliance swaps can leave unsafe connections behind. These are the problems we find and fix. Our process starts with locating the problem accurately. We check for leaks at joints, valves, and along pipe runs. Once we identify the issue, we repair or replace the damaged section and pressure-test the system before we leave. Gas work is not a place to cut corners, and we have been doing this since childhood, learning the trade hands-on from the ground up. Call us when you smell gas, hear a hiss near an appliance, or notice your burners are not performing the way they should.

Gas Pipe Repair FAQ

Common questions about gas pipe repair in San Diego, CA.

A rotten egg smell, a hissing sound near a pipe or appliance, or a burner that will not light properly are common signs of a gas pipe problem. If you notice any of these at your San Diego downtown home or building, stop using the appliance and call a professional.

A leaking fitting in Chula Vista or anywhere in our service area needs a proper repair, not just a tighten, because worn threads or corroded fittings will continue to fail. We assess the fitting and the surrounding pipe section to determine the right fix.

Yes, we repair gas pipes in older homes throughout La Mesa, El Cajon, and all of our service areas. Older properties often have aging iron or galvanized pipe that corrodes from moisture and ground movement over time.

Yes, a damaged or partially blocked gas pipe in Mira Mesa can reduce gas pressure and cause appliances to underperform or produce uneven flames. Repairing the pipe restores proper gas flow to your appliances.

We repair both indoor pipe runs and outdoor buried gas lines for properties in Poway, Scripps Ranch, and across all our service areas. Underground lines can develop leaks from soil movement or corrosion, sometimes showing up as dead patches of vegetation above the line.

Leave the building immediately, avoid switching any lights or appliances on or off, and call SDG&E to shut off the supply before calling us. Once the area is safe, Economy Plumbing SD can locate and repair the damaged pipe.

These guys did a great job, they gave me a great price to replace my water main. Friendly, hard working and very responsive. They came out in the morning, gave me a price and started the work immediately. They were done in a day. I highly recommend them and I will be hiring them for future needs.

I woke up to a flooded pool on Saturday before Labor Day weekend. Water was gushing out of the ground. I tried turning off everything I could see but it didn’t make any difference. After turning off the mains, I found Franklin from Economy. He came out and gave me an estimate right away to dig up the pipe. That’s when we discovered that it had burst. Franklin built a copper pipe to bypass and saved my Labor Day weekend. It would’ve been not a very fun long weekend if it weren’t for his prompt and professional plumbing work. I will definitely be calling Franklin for any future plumbing work. 10/10 highly recommended

Franklin was amazing! They responded and came out right away. Snaked two drains and added a new gas line for a dryer. Very clean and polite. We will definitely be calling them again.

Highly recommended, fast communication and quick service. Was even available on a Sunday evening to fix a leaking supply line. Franklin was patient, answered all of my questions, and worked quickly. Wont hesitate to use their company again.
